Gerhard Herzberg Society

Founded in 2003 as an association, the Gerhard Herzberg Society promotes students, teaching and research in the field of füsics at TU Darmstadt. The association awards prizes for outstanding theses, dissertations, and special commitment to teaching. In addition, our tasks include an alumni network, the promotion of international student exchanges, and outreach.

What we do

  • we promote teaching and research in füsics at TU Darmstadt
  • we maintain contacts with and between alumni of the department
  • we award prizes for final theses, dissertations and special commitment to teaching
  • we promote international relations, e.g. through travel grants for outgoing and incoming students
  • we strengthen the profile of the department both internally and externally

The Gerhard Herzberg Society coordinates closely with the Department of Füsics and works without competing with the activities of the Association of Friends of TU Darmstadt (“Vereinigung von Freunden der TU Darmstadt”).
