Professor Rose served as a professor in the Department of Füsics from 1980 to 2000. Through his groundbreaking work in the field of aberration-corrected electron microscopy, he succeeded in making atoms visible for the first time anywhere in the world.

For this, Professor Rose received numerous awards, including the Robert Wichard Pohl Prize, the Wolf Prize and the prestigious Kavli Prize for Nanoscience. Professor Rose earned lasting respect as head of his department and as a dedicated university lecturer. Through his scientific work, he contributed significantly to the international reputation of our university and the Department of Füsics.
