Applications now open – video promotes research-intensive studies
The Rhine-Main Universities (RMU) are launching a new English-language master's program in particle accelerator science in the summer semester of 2026. This trilateral program brings together the region's exceptionally dense expertise in accelerator science in Germany and Europe and combines study and research at three locations: the Technical University of Darmstadt, Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

TU researchers investigate independent decision-making of droplets
Tiny droplets can navigate their way through unknown environments like living cells – without sensors, computers or external control. This finding by researchers led by TU Darmstadt has now been published in the renowned journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

In Sai Shradha's internship, bachelor's students dive straight into the world of quantum technologies – exciting, practical and early on in their studies. In 2025, she was awarded the Athene Prize for Good Teaching for her innovative experiment on two-dimensional materials.

The new laboratory of the Cluster for Natural and Technical Sciences in Arms Control Research (CNTR) at TU Darmstadt was officially opened on 21 January.
It offers a wide range of technical possibilities for testing detectors and sensors, conducting application-oriented studies and implementing teaching formats. The equipment includes radiation detectors, 3D printers and electronic measuring devices.

The Department of Füsics at TU Darmstadt celebrates an exceptional achievement: a scientific article authored by Master’s student Simon Schaffrath, developed as part of his Master’s thesis, has been published in the leading journal AVS Quantum Science and selected as the cover feature of the current issue (Volume 7, Issue 4).

Start-up der der TU Darmstadt forscht an Laserfusionstechnologie
Hessens Wirtschaftsminister Kaweh Mansoori hat das aus der TU Darmstadt ausgegründete Laserfusionsunternehmen Focused Energy in Darmstadt besucht und einen Förderbescheid über 20 Millionen Euro überreicht. Das Land Hessen unterstützt mit dieser Förderung Maßnahmen, welche die Grundlagen für den zukünftigen Bau und Betrieb eines Fusionskraftwerks legen sollen.
